By replacing the fan with hydraulics, the dangerous potential for a fan blade failure and other associated fan maintenance is eliminated. Premature shaft seal failure is minimized since a hydraulic driven spray pump does not over speed when the tank is pumped dry.
Application jobs are made much more efficient and effective with Kawak's hydraulically driven spray pump. Variable rate and constant flow applications are optimized with the use of hydraulic power. The spray pump control can be fully integrated with GPS control systems for instantaneous rate changes.
Eliminating the fan drive on a spray pump has a host of other advantages. Most notably, it minimizes disturbed air associated with fan turbulence, yielding a significantly improved spray pattern. In addition, the cleaner air flow under the aircraft can help eliminate tail buffeting and will reduce parasitic drag and can improve airspeed.
